About

From individual keywords sent to him by his fans, Ivo Martin writes entire stories with an acoustic guitar and a seemingly inexhaustible supply of ideas, which he then packs into songs. The short videos not only demonstrate a sense of harmony and composition but also showcase Ivo Martin's impressive skills as a clever songwriter with a special talent for strong imagery and relatable storytelling.

The 20-year-old actually had very different plans: after graduating from high school, Ivo Martin applied for the Music Business program at the Mannheim Pop Academy. However, during the interview, he was told: “You don’t belong here – you’re an artist!” So Ivo Martin decided to take on the challenge. All signs had always pointed to pop stardom for him. Growing up near the old capital of Bonn, his father ensured early musical education; at home, they listened to the Beatles, and in the car, Queen’s “A Night at the Opera” – still Ivo Martin’s favorite album to this day. At six years old, he was sent to guitar lessons, and eleven years later, the ambitious newcomer released his own compositions for the first time, already attracting some attention. With his signing to Epic Records Germany, Ivo Martin is aiming for a fresh start.

His sound can be characterized by the guitar in the spotlight, complemented by organic instrumentation with grand pop moments and delicate experiments, over which Ivo Martin’s falsetto voice floats. His captivating way of telling everyday stories paired with overwhelming emotions inevitably draws the audience into Ivo Martin’s very own world. A world held together by powerful feelings and meticulous musical detail. In that world, Ivo Martin is already a star.
